School's Out "Jump Kick"

Oh my goodness, school is out and I cannot be more excited that I actually survived my first year of homeschool...."looks like we made....look how far we've come, my baby." Shania Twain . Oh the world was against us, but we made it through!! Praise God for providing the strength we need in our weakness!!!! He is great!!! So this weekend my friend, Sheila and I ventured to Winston-Salem for the NCHE Homeschool Conference....NERVES!!! I have never seen so many people before!!! I have to say, I was a little "vaclempt" at the sight of it all. There were miles of curriculum, books, and games...I am not sure if I successfully saw each and everything there...but I sure did try!! I also tried to attend each hour of seminars, and they were well worth it and super great! My favorite had to be the first one I went to called "Pace vs Perserverance" Let me tell ya...It set me free!!! She made it known that she has 7 children and her "Saxon Math" was still incomplete and the best quote of the day was: "And my kitchen floors are crunchy....." That made my day. Well, what did I come home with? I came home with the knowledge that I can't be perfect...I am not "super women". My kids will love learning and their teacher (that's me) if I make it fun for all of us!!! Creativity is the key, for me, yes...but even more so for my kids!! They need a place to express their creativity and my husband and I have decided to create that for them this summer. So this summer I will proceed with the bonus room makeover...maybe I can post some pictures for ya!!! I can't wait to see what this summer and next school year brings!!! As always...I am SO EXCITED!!!!
