Jesus said, "...It is hard for you to kick against the goads."Acts 26:14b
Scripture is just about the best way to speak to your children when trying your best to breathe wisdom into their life.I always say to my children..."you're only hurting yourself", "you're only making more work for your self". Well it turns out that Jesus had a way of putting this thought across when he said to "Saul on the road to Damascus; "Why do you persecute me? It's hard for you to kick against the goads."What? What's a "Goad"? The commentary in my Bible defines a goad as an OXGOAD, which is a sharp stick used to prod cattle. If you kicked against it, well...you'd only hurt yourself...So guess what...you will hear this phrase come out of my mouth when I speak to my children from now on. And yes, I will make this chapter 77 in my future book..."Wisdom is Crying Out"...It's crying out People...BE WISE!!! Don't keep kickin' against the GOADS!!!
