2007 Christmas Tea Team

Ten months of planning has finally paid off

As we celebrate the Third Annual Wakefield Christmas Tea.

For me as coordinator, it has entirely been a God thing. He showed me ideas, helped to layout a game plan and provided me with four truly wonderful women who have a heart for the Lord and women. This came about not by what I have done but because of what the Lord did throughout the whole team. I'd like to thank each one for their role in this gathering.

Hosted this year by Judy Lowe, she has been an amazing asset to the coordination of this event. She not only opened home for this gathering but graciously allowed us to utilize her tea experience, people resources and wisdom to make this a beautiful and wonderful tea experience for us all. Thank you Judy for coming along side us in this way and encouraging us during planning. I pray that the bond we shared over these past months will only grow stronger.

Sheila Smith has spent four years as our Women's Coordinator and has always felt this to be an incredible evangelical way to share the gospel to ones neighbors as to point them to Jesus, that they may follow Him in faith. As an advisor, she was able to direct us in the proper way to the things we should or should not focus upon based on her past years experience and partnership with Kendra Graham throughout the years of planning Christmas Teas. Sheila, you are a woman full of knowledge with a heart for women. I thank you, my friend, for your tireless desire to support and mentor women.

Every coordinator needs a co-coordinator and that was Katharine Ray. It was a great help to have her available, as I threw out ideas and received an honest response and encouragement about how to proceed with the game plan. She was integral in the paperwork aspect as well, as she was in charge of invitations, announcement cards and name tags. Katharine has collected the names and prayed for each woman on our Wakefield Roll. As she moves into leadership this coming year her prayer is to be effective in the encouragement of women that they may participate fully in the women's ministry events.

Kelly Parkison...our Pastors wife. She came in to the planning process almost immediately after joining with our church family in July. As she is a professional speaker and also new to our church body, we thought it to be a wonderful idea to have her share at this year's tea. She was ready to take on the challenge!! At the tea she expressed to us her difficulty as a young girl due to her learning disabilities and how so many people discounted what she would be able to accomplish in her life. She showed how God used that to bring her to a place of confidence in His abilities through her. Thank you Kelly for that profound testimony encouraging us to remember when we are weak he is strong and can accomplish anything he wants through us.

"Blessed is she who believes that what the Lord says will be accomplished" Luke 1:45

We all believe this event was a blessed one. We believe that what was accomplished is exactly what the Lord had laid on our hearts. We thank the women of our church for the participation in the DEMO Tea at Judy's and also to those women who will take on the challenge to have their own Christmas tea to impact the lost in their neighborhoods. The Lord is Good!!
